How to treat pediatric stenosing tenosynovitis

Pediatric stenosing tenosynovitis can be treated with general treatment, medication and surgery. 1. General treatment: Children with mild disease can be relieved by restricting the activity of the lesion and correcting the bad movement, 2. Medication: For children whose sleep is affected by pain, oral medication such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (ibuprofen) can be taken under doctor’s supervision to relieve the pain. 3. Surgery: Surgery can be considered if conservative treatment is not effective. Common surgical procedures include tenotomy and percutaneous needle release. Surgical treatment has the disadvantages of high risk, easy to be infected, easy to damage the finger nerve, and ischemic necrosis of the finger. Patients diagnosed with pediatric tenosynovitis are advised to visit a hospital for prompt treatment.
