What’s wrong with persistent itching

Intractable pruritus may be caused by systemic diseases, abnormal function of skin condition, and various external factors.
1. Systemic diseases: Systemic diseases are common causes of generalized pruritus, including diabetes mellitus, uremia, hepatobiliary diseases (such as obstructive jaundice, etc.), malignant tumors (such as hepatocellular carcinoma, etc.), hematological disorders (such as iron-deficiency anemia, etc.), intestinal parasites and so on.
2. Skin condition function abnormality: Skin dryness, atrophy and other skin condition function abnormality can also lead to intractable itching.
3. Various external factors: exposure to various chemicals (such as disinfectants, dyes, etc.), taking certain drugs (such as niacin, etc.) and other external factors are also common causes of intractable itching.
Patients with intractable itching need to go to the hospital in time, to clarify the cause of the disease, and follow the doctor’s instructions for standardized treatment.
