Chronic Guillain-Barre Syndrome, or chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, presents with most symptoms such as motor nerve abnormalities, sensory nerve abnormalities, and autonomic nerve function abnormalities. Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy is an acquired immune-mediated peripheral neuroinflammatory demyelinating disease with chronic progression or relapse after remission. 1. Motor nerve abnormalities: symmetrical distal or proximal weakness of the limbs, mostly progressing from distal to proximal. There is usually no dysphagia, and dyspnea is more rare. 2. Sensory nerve abnormality: hypesthesia or loss of peripheral sensation in the limbs. 3. Autonomic dysfunction: postural hypotension, sphincter dysfunction and cardiac arrhythmia. When chronic Guillain-Barre syndrome is considered, timely diagnosis and treatment are recommended to avoid delay.
