Licorice and Forsythia Soup is composed of Forsythia, Gui Zhi, Glycyrrhiza glabra and Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, and can be used to treat pain in the bones and joints, and urinary dysfunction (unruly urination).
Licorice and Herba Soup is from “Treatise on Typhoid Fever”, which is composed of Radix et Rhizoma Polygoni Multiflori, Radix Cinnamomum Cassiae, Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae Praeparatae and Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae. It can be used in treating rheumatism-dampness interactions, pain in the joints of the bones and bones, severe pain in the nearness, not being able to flex or extend, dysuria (unfavorable urination), shortness of breath due to perspiration, not being able to go away from the clothes due to evil winds, or the body swelling slightly.
In this formula, Gui Zhi passes yang and transforms qi, relieves the exterior and dispels wind; Pseudostemma removes dampness and relieves pain, disperses cold and warms the menstruation; Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae dispels dampness and strengthens the spleen; and Glycyrrhiza Glabra moderates urgency and harmonizes the middle. The combination of these herbs can help to dispel cold, warm the menstruation, remove dampness and dispel wind.
