If you have a nosebleed that won’t stop flowing, you can first stop the bleeding by blocking the nose and applying pressure. If the bleeding is severe, you should go to the hospital for appropriate examination and treatment. Use a sterilized cotton ball to plug the nostril on the bleeding side and observe for 5 minutes, or pinch both sides of the nose with your thumb and index finger and press towards the middle for about 5 to 10 minutes. You can also wrap an ice pack in a towel or apply a cold towel directly to the forehead, as well as to the back of the neck, to encourage vasoconstriction to speed up the bleeding. If the bleeding cannot be stopped, the bleeding blood vessel may be large, or the bleeding site is in the middle, top, or back of the nasal cavity, so it is not easy to stop the bleeding because it is impossible to press on the bleeding point. If the usual bleeding stopping methods are ineffective, it is necessary to go to the hospital for further examination, so that the doctor can clarify the location of the bleeding and then stop the bleeding accurately. It is recommended to go to the hospital in time to avoid delaying the condition.
