Toric lenses with astigmatism can be used to treat cataract patients with astigmatism, with the requirement that the error in astigmatism should be within 25 degrees and the error in astigmatism axial position should be within 5 degrees. In cataract patients with combined refractive errors such as myopia and astigmatism, the implantation of a specific IOL can eliminate the existing myopia, whereas the implantation of an IOL with toric IOLs is required to eliminate astigmatism, i.e., a compound surface IOL. Since astigmatism and axial astigmatism are two important indicators that will affect the patient’s visual quality after the surgery, it is required to strictly control the error of these two indicators, the error of astigmatism should be controlled within 25 degrees, and the error of axial astigmatism should be controlled within 5 degrees, in order to achieve a better result after the surgery. If cataract patients need surgery, it is recommended to choose regular hospitals and follow the doctor’s instructions for preoperative preparation and postoperative care.
