What do young children with brain injuries look like

Toddlers with brain injury may show signs of crying and irritability, feeding difficulties, developmental delays, and changes in muscle tone.
1. Crying and irritability: young children with mild brain injury may show signs of sleep agitation, irritability, and persistent crying.
2. Difficulty in feeding: Young children with brain injury may have difficulty in swallowing, easy to vomit and other eating abnormalities during feeding.
3. Developmental delay: some young children with brain injury may also have growth retardation. Compared with young children of the same age, young children with brain injury have growth retardation, which may be manifested as mental retardation and language impairment.
4. Changes in muscle tone: After severe brain injury, young children may have increased muscle tone, mainly in the form of stiff limbs, scissor steps and crossed legs.
