Can you drink astragalus while breastfeeding?

Astragalus can be drunk during breastfeeding when symptoms of qi and blood deficiency occur, such as weakness, dizziness, and less milk. However, astragalus steeped in water may not be able to precipitate the active ingredients well, and the efficacy of the single herb is not as good as that of the combination. If you are not feeling well, please consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment.
Astragalus is a qi tonic Chinese medicine, which can tonify qi and raise yang, promote diuresis, reduce swelling, generate fluid and nourish blood, benefit qi and consolidate the epidermis, support the toxin and expel pus (expel pus and toxins in the body), astringent sores and regenerate the muscle (help sores to heal more quickly and promote the growth of new flesh), and promote stagnation and paralysis (make the paralyzed meridians unobstructed).
It can be used to treat symptoms such as weakness of lung, spleen and qi, deficiency of qi and blood, deficiency of fluid and internal heat, deficiency of qi and blood stasis resulting in weakness, poor appetite, diarrhea, edema, shortness of breath, sweating, thirst and excessive drinking, hemiplegia (inability to move a limb at will), and skin sores that do not converge.
Note that Astragalus should not be used if the evil qi is strong, the body is not weak, the diet is not digestible, there is deficiency of yin and internal heat, sores have just broken out, or if the heat toxin is strong.
The medication should be taken under the guidance of a professional physician, and should not be taken on one’s own, so as not to cause any delay in the condition.
