Is Chlamydia Trachomatis Positive a Good Chance of Getting AIDS?

Being positive for Chlamydia trachomatis does not directly lead to getting AIDS; these are two different diseases. AIDS is caused by an HIV infection. Chlamydia trachomatis infection usually leads to diseases such as conjunctivitis and urethritis. However, it is possible for a patient to be infected by both of these pathogens and have both diseases at the same time.
Patients infected with Chlamydia trachomatis usually develop eye inflammation, such as conjunctivitis and keratitis, as well as diseases of the urinary system, such as urethritis, and cervicitis in women.
Chlamydia trachomatis does not directly lead to AIDS, but patients may be infected with both Chlamydia trachomatis and HIV, and suffer from both diseases at the same time.
It is recommended that patients go to the hospital and follow the doctor’s instructions.
