Job’s tears and Job’s tears are different names for the same drug, Coix lacryma, there is no difference between the two, just called different.
Job’s tears have the effect of inducing diuresis and seepage of dampness (promoting the flow of water to get rid of dampness), strengthening the spleen and stopping diarrhea, removing paralysis, draining pus, and detoxifying and dispersing knots, which can treat carbuncles, intestinal canker sores, warts, and cancerous tumors.
In addition, Coix Seed can be used with Atractylodes Macrocephala to treat loose stools and fatigue caused by dampness in the spleen; with Dong Gua Pi to treat edema and shortness of urine caused by dampness-heat and spleen deficiency; and with Tong Cao to treat dysuria and weakness caused by dampness-heat in the spleen.
The adverse effects of this drug are not clear, but pregnant women should be cautious. If medication is needed, it should be used rationally under the guidance of a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, do not use the medicine blindly.
