Fasting weight is the weight after a bowel movement.
Fasting weight is the weight after waking up early in the morning, without drinking or eating, and after urination and defecation. It is necessary to dress lightly and remove heavy clothing, hats, shoes, and other adornments in order to maximize the weight close to the fasting weight.
Under normal circumstances, the fasting weight for infants aged 1 to 6 months is birth weight + age in months × 700 grams; for infants aged 7 to 12 months, it is 600 + age in months × 250 grams; for children aged 1 to 12 years, it is age × 2 + 8 kilograms; and for adults, it is (height in centimeters – 105) kilograms.
Fasting weights within 10% above or below the standard weight are within the normal range. If the weight is not normal, it is necessary to further check the thyroid function, basal metabolic rate and other items to find out the cause, and then under the guidance of the doctor for treatment.
