Can you take Ganoderma lucidum after it has been infested with worms?

After being infested with insects, if the eyes are small and there is no insect body on the ganoderma lucidum, it can be washed and taken; if it is infested with larger eyes and there is still insect body on the ganoderma lucidum or it has been moldy and deteriorated, then it can not be taken any more.
Ganoderma lucidum is the dried substrate of the fungus Chi Chi or Zi Zhi of the family Polyporaceae. Dried Ganoderma lucidum can be used as traditional Chinese medicine with the effect of tonifying qi and tranquillizing the mind, relieving cough and calming wheezing, and can be applied in the treatment and improvement of the diseases such as restlessness, insomnia and palpitation, cough and wheezing of the lungs, deficiency of labor and shortness of breath, and inability to think about food and drink. Storage should be placed in a dry place to prevent mold and moth.
However, Lingzhi generally grows in an environment with high humidity and dim light, and there is a possibility of being infested by insects during growth and storage, depending on the situation. If the insect eyes are small and there is no insect residue, it can be washed carefully before decoction and usually does not affect the taking of the medicine. However, if the ganoderma lucidum is infested with insects and accompanied by mold and deterioration, or if there are more insects and insect residue, the medicine should not be taken any more.
It is recommended to ask for medical advice in time for the emergence of diseases, and then follow the doctor’s instructions to take ganoderma lucidum, and it is not recommended to use it without authorization. And the environment should be kept dry during storage to avoid the growth of insects or deterioration of Ganoderma lucidum.
