Iris defects caused by surgery are usually repairable.
At the time of surgery, the eye was irritated by an external force that caused the iris of the eye to break or rupture. No special treatment is needed for patients with iris defects without complications. If there are complications, surgical treatments such as implantation of a tension ring with an iris septum and IOL implantation can be used to repair the patient’s iris defect.
Patients with iris defects are usually asymptomatic, unless iris involvement results in symptoms such as lockjaw or potbellied pupil, severe photophobia, and monocular diplopia. Usually, patients practice good hygiene and do not rub their eyes with their hands.
When patients with iris defects in the eyes and serious symptoms, it is recommended to go to the ophthalmology department of the hospital for examination and treatment according to the results of the examination, so as not to delay the condition.
