Treatment should be tailored to the cause of the disease. Surgical resection is recommended for tumors near the pituitary gland and hypothalamus, while transsphenoidal surgery can be performed for lymphocytic pituitary inflammation to relieve the pressure symptoms if there are obvious headaches and impaired vision, as well as medication such as methotrexate.
In addition, patients with hypopituitarism can also use thyroid hormone drugs for hormone replacement therapy, such as levothyroxine sodium tablets.
