What to do when a baby spits up clear, gooey stuff

Infants spitting out clear and sticky things may be caused by hypopharyngeal syndrome, digestive tract malformation, etc., which can be treated by taking medication or surgery.
1. Hypopharyngeal syndrome: occurs in the neonatal period, mostly due to fetal swallowing of amniotic fluid contaminated by meconium, maternal blood, etc., which can be manifested as infants vomiting transparent, bloody or green mucus, usually 1-2 days can be self-cured, and in severe cases, it can be treated by using sodium bicarbonate gastric lavage, intravenous rehydration, and other methods.
2. Gastrointestinal malformation: due to digestive malformation, such as congenital hypertrophic pyloric stenosis, etc., after the baby eats, the food can not be digested, absorbed and transported in a timely manner, which can be manifested as vomiting of clear mucus, gastric contents, etc., which generally need to be cured by surgical treatment.
If infants vomit transparent mucus, they should seek medical examination and treatment as soon as possible to avoid delaying the condition and leading to adverse consequences. The above medications should be used according to medical advice.
