How to recover from a strained medial knee ligament

Medial knee ligament strains can be treated with local immobilization, cold compresses, medication, surgery and other treatments to promote recovery.
1. Local immobilization: The first thing to do for medial knee ligament strain is to immobilize it with plaster or brace to protect the joint, brake it, and avoid weight-bearing to prevent further aggravation of the strain due to exercise and to reduce the damage to the ligament.
2. Cold compresses: medial knee ligament strains often have symptoms of swelling and pain, in order to reduce these symptoms, cold compresses can be applied.
3. Medications: For patients with more severe pain and swelling, anti-inflammatory and analgesic medications such as ibuprofen and aspirin can be used.
4. Surgery: If conservative treatment is ineffective, or the pain gradually worsens, it is recommended to perform X-ray, CT or MRI to rule out the possibility of avulsion fracture of the attachment point or rupture of the medial collateral ligament. If there is a relatively complex fracture or rupture, surgical treatment is required.
Once the medial knee ligament is strained, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time, under the guidance of the doctor for emergency treatment, do not delay the condition, to prevent further aggravation of the strain, resulting in serious consequences.
