The hazards of orange peel, or Chenpi, and its use in pillows are currently unknown.
Chenpi is the dried mature fruit rind of orange and its cultivated varieties in the family of Rutaceae. Taste bitter, pungent, warm. Attributed to the lung, spleen meridian. It can regulate qi and strengthen the spleen, dry dampness and resolve phlegm (expelling dampness by drying dampness and resolving phlegm). It is used for distention and fullness in the epigastrium (stomach and abdomen), poor appetite and vomiting and diarrhea, and coughing with excessive phlegm.
Chenpi is used to make pillows, neither internally nor externally, so its dangers are not yet clear, and if the patient is allergic to Chenpi, it should be used with caution.
Chenpi is pungent in flavor and warm in nature, so it should be taken with caution in cases of qi deficiency, dry cough with yin deficiency, vomiting blood, and those with a red tongue and little fluid, and those with solid internal heat.
It is recommended to use medication under the guidance of a doctor, do not take medication or use medication on your own to avoid adverse reactions.
