What to do if you have a lot of small white spots on a CT test of your lungs

Many small white spots on CT lungs are usually caused by calcified foci in the lungs, and are also considered to be related to pneumonia, tuberculosis, pneumoconiosis, etc. Patients can follow the doctor’s instructions for medication or surgical treatment.
1. Lung calcification foci: For some people who have had lesions in the lungs, there may be many small white spots when they visit the doctor for lung CT test. If the calcified foci are old and not accompanied by abnormal symptoms, usually no special treatment is needed, and regular follow-up is sufficient.
2. Pneumonia: Pneumonia patients usually need to follow the doctor’s instructions with penicillin, cefixime, azithromycin, levofloxacin and other antibiotics to control the infection. Cough can be prescribed with dextromethorphan, Pentoxyverine and other cough suppressants to relieve, cough sputum can be used to aminoglutethimide hydrochloride, bromhexine and other phlegm drugs treatment. In case of fever, ibuprofen, loxoprofen and other antipyretic drugs can be used.
3. Tuberculosis: Patients with tuberculosis should be treated with streptomycin, isoniazid, rifampicin, pyrazinamide, ethambutol and other anti-tuberculosis drugs as prescribed by the doctor. For those who are not effective in drug treatment and in serious condition, they can cooperate with doctors to have surgical treatment.
4. Pneumoconiosis: patients with pneumoconiosis can be treated with beta₂ agonists such as salbutamol aerosol and salmeterol aerosol, theophyllines such as aminophylline and doxophylline, anticholinergics such as ipratropium bromide and tiotropium bromide, and cough suppressants such as dextromethorphan and codeine, in order to alleviate uncomfortable symptoms. Lung lavage and rational oxygen therapy are also feasible in some patients.
Lung cancer, respiratory bronchiolitis, etc. may also cause a lot of small white spots in the lung CT test. It is recommended that patients do further detailed examination in order to clarify the cause of the disease and then follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment, do not use drugs indiscriminately.
