Acute pyelonephritis is mainly caused by bacterial infection, which may be related to gender, low immunity, urinary tract obstruction and other reasons.
1. Gender: Acute pyelonephritis is mostly seen in female patients. Female urethra is shorter and wider, closer to anus and opens below labia, which is easy to be infected and cause acute pyelonephritis by upward infection.
2. Low immunity: such as long-term use of immunosuppressants, diabetes, long-term bedridden, AIDS, etc. can appear low immunity. The risk of acute pyelonephritis increases as it is easier to get infected with bacteria.
3. Urinary tract obstruction: such as stones, prostate hyperplasia, stenosis, tumors, etc. can any impede the free flow of urine, resulting in urine accumulation, bacteria are not easy to be removed by flushing, easy to occur acute pyelonephritis.
