Conservative treatment of distal clavicle fracture usually takes three months to recover, and special patients may need about six months.
1. General situation: distal clavicle fracture belongs to the more common type of clavicle fracture, if the imaging suggests that the fracture ends are better aligned, usually can be treated conservatively, conservative treatment of patients need to be at least 4~6 weeks of immobilization, 4~6 weeks after the need to remove the external fixation device to carry on the rehabilitation training, most of the patients need about three months to achieve the state of bony healing.
2. Special patients: If the patient himself belongs to the elderly group with osteoporosis or combined with diabetes, malnutrition and other underlying diseases, often after the distal clavicle fracture, conservative treatment will take about six months to recover. Because these patients are in poor physical condition, the time to form new bone after the fracture will be relatively longer.
If the patient with distal clavicle fracture experiences pain, numbness or other symptoms during the course of conservative treatment, it is recommended that he or she return to the clinic in a timely manner.
