Symptoms of spinal cord nerve damage may include spinal cord concussion, incomplete spinal cord injury, complete spinal cord injury, spinal cord cone injury, and so on.
1. Spinal cord shock: clinically, it is mainly manifested by the loss of sensation, movement and reflexes below the injury plane, but sensation and movement gradually recovered after a few days without any neurological sequelae.
2. Incomplete spinal cord injury includes anterior spinal cord, posterior spinal cord, pericentral spinal canal, and spinal cord hemisection syndrome. Anterior spinal cord syndrome usually refers to tetraplegia caused by anterior compression of the cervical spinal cord. Posterior spinal cord syndrome refers to the presence of motor sensation, pain, temperature and touch under the damaged plane of the spinal cord and the disappearance of deep sensation.
The peri-central canal syndrome of the spinal cord is characterized by quadriplegia below the plane of injury, and the hemisection syndrome of the spinal cord refers to the disappearance of motor and deep sensation of the ipsilateral limb as well as pain and temperature sensation of the contralateral limb below the plane of injury.
3. Complete spinal cord injury refers to the loss of sensory and motor functions below the injury level, such as paraplegia in thoracic spinal cord injury and quadriplegia in cervical spinal cord injury.
4. Spinal cord cone injury is characterized by loss of perineal skin sensation, sphincter contraction and diastolic function, inability to control urination and defecation, but normal sensation and movement of both lower limbs.
It is recommended that patients with spinal cord nerve damage should seek medical treatment in time and under the guidance of doctors, so as to avoid delaying the condition and causing serious consequences.
