Deviated septum correction is a surgical procedure to correct a deviated septum. The common surgical methods include submucosal septoplasty and submucosal resection of the septum, which are different from each other.
Submucosal septoplasty involves making an incision at the internal nasal aperture, separating the cartilage membranes on both sides of the nasal septum, and removing part of the septal cartilage or adopting a triple reduction of the septum to correct the septum.
On the other hand, the incision for septal submucosal resection is made at the skin of the nasal vestibule, the cartilage membrane on the opposite side of the incision is separated, and the septal cartilage is excised in the shape of a strip, and the retained portion of the cartilage is cut into the shape of a field.
The two surgical methods are suitable for different groups of people, and patients should follow the guidance of specialized physicians to choose the appropriate surgical method.
