Eczema is known as wet sores in Chinese medicine. Ge Gen Tang is not generally used to treat eczema.
Ge Gen Tang is a Chinese herbal formula from the Treatise on Typhoid Fever, which consists of Ge Gen, Gui Zhi, Licorice and Jujube. It has the effects of sweating and relieving muscles, dispersing cold and relieving pain. It can be used for external wind-cold infection with symptoms such as malignant cold and fever (fear of cold and fever), headache, body pain without sweating, dryness and vomiting.
Wet sores are mostly caused by wind-damp-heat evil impregnating the skin, and the treatment is to clear heat and relieve dampness and itching as the main treatment, so Pueraria Mirifica is generally not used in the treatment of eczema. In the type of eczema with internal dampness-heat, Gentian Liver Tang with Dioscorea Villosa is used for treatment, in the type of spleen deficiency and dampness, Gastro-ling Tang with Dampness Removal or Ginseng-ling-White Art Powder is used for treatment, and in the type of blood deficiency and wind-dryness, Danggui Drink or Four Substances Anti-Wind Drink with Dioscore is used for treatment.
If there is any discomfort, it is recommended to consult a professional doctor for diagnosis and treatment in order to avoid delaying the condition. The use of drugs should be guided by a professional physician, and should not be used on its own, so as not to cause adverse consequences.
