High HDL cholesterol may be due to physiologic reasons, such as exercise, or to pathologic diseases, such as various liver diseases.
1. Physiological reasons: people who exercise regularly may have high HDL cholesterol.
2. Pathological causes: chronic hepatitis, alcoholic liver disease, drug-induced liver injury, cirrhosis, primary biliary cholangitis and other diseases, cholesterol transferase deficiency, resulting in reduced activity of hepatic esterase causing high HDL cholesterol.
HDL cholesterol can promote the breakdown of fat metabolism by the liver, which is a good lipid component, but if it is high, you should go to the hospital and have it checked under the guidance of the doctor to find out the reason for the high HDL cholesterol, and if it is pathologic, you should have it treated in time.
