Lymph node metastasis of papillary thyroid cancer 3/7 means that the pathological type of thyroid cancer is papillary carcinoma, and the pathological examination of 7 lymph nodes cleared showed metastasis in 3 of them. Thyroid cancer can be categorized into papillary carcinoma, follicular adenocarcinoma, medullary carcinoma and undifferentiated carcinoma according to the pathological findings. Papillary carcinoma is the most important type of thyroid cancer, which is less malignant and may develop lymph node metastasis at an early stage, but has a better prognosis. Cervical lymph node dissection was required for those who had lymphatic metastasis on imaging, or those who did not have lymph node metastasis but had risk factors such as thyroid invasion out of the periosteum, family history, and so on, and the pathological examination showed that metastasis was visible in three of seven lymph nodes that were cleared out. The type of thyroid cancer and lymph node metastasis in the pathology examination results can be used for staging as well as guiding the need for iodine 131 treatment, treatment effect and prognosis.
