Hydrogen peroxide, or hydrogen peroxide solution, does not need to be applied to facial abrasions after they have scabbed over.
Hydrogen peroxide solution is a common disinfectant for otitis externa and wounds, and has a good disinfecting effect on wounds caused by anaerobic bacteria because it produces oxygen. It is not necessary to apply hydrogen peroxide solution to facial abrasions after they have scabbed over.
For facial abrasions, if there is mud and sand and other dirt in the wound, you first need to use saline, water and so on to clean the wound; after cleaning, use iodophor and other disinfectants to disinfect, generally less use of hydrogen peroxide; after disinfection, put a dressing on it.
Before the wound is scabbed, pay attention to protect the wound, do not touch water or other non-sterile liquid. When the wound scabs, at this time there is already a layer of dense fibrous connective tissue between the wound and the outside world, generally can be sterilized externally with povidone-iodine. If disinfected with hydrogen peroxide, it can easily lead to foreign matter or contaminants on the surface of the scab penetrating below the scab and causing infection.
