Having bowel movements several times a day is not necessarily a sign of bad bowel movements, it depends on the individual. A frequency of once every three days to three times a day is normal. More than this frequency may be the disease caused by acute and chronic diarrhea.
1. Acute diarrhea: bacteria, viruses and other pathogens caused by acute enteritis is more common, in addition to the consumption of poisonous mushrooms and other toxic foods may be caused by acute poisoning, some chronic diseases such as Crohn’s disease, acute attack of ulcerative colitis can also cause diarrhea.
2. Chronic diarrhea: diseases that can cause chronic diarrhea include chronic gastritis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, pancreatitis and cirrhosis of the liver and other digestive diseases; hyperthyroidism, systemic lupus erythematosus and other systemic diseases can cause chronic diarrhea.
If the number of bowel movements per day is relatively fixed, and the nature of feces does not change much, not accompanied by mucus, not accompanied by pus and blood, then the disease is generally not considered; if the nature of the bowel movements and habits of the change, or feces accompanied by mucus, pus and blood, it is recommended to go to the regular hospital for colonoscopy and other tests.
