What’s wrong with standing up and getting dizzy and nauseous?

The phenomenon of dizziness and nausea when standing up may be due to upright hypotension, or it may be caused by factors such as hypoglycemia, anemia or peripheral vertigo.
1. Upright hypotension: dizziness, nausea, fainting and other uncomfortable symptoms due to a significant drop in blood pressure when the body stands up quickly.
2. Hypoglycemia: As the glucose level in the plasma of the body decreases and is lower than normal, the phenomenon of dizziness and nausea may occur when standing up, accompanied by palpitations, sweating and other symptoms.
3. Anemia: when anemia causes ischemia in the posterior circulation, leading to dizziness and nausea when standing up, and in severe cases, it may be accompanied by weakness of the limbs and unsteady walking.
4. Peripheral vertigo: it can be induced by Meniere’s disease, labyrinthitis, otolithosis and other factors, thus showing episodes of vertigo with tinnitus, hearing loss or postural vertigo and other symptoms, and also the phenomenon of dizziness and nausea when standing up.
If the above symptoms occur, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time and actively cooperate with the doctor for treatment.
