Infants with runny noses should be treated with medication based on a clear understanding of the cause of the condition, which varies from one cause to another. The medications involved are antibacterials, antivirals, glucocorticoids, antihistamines, etc.
The causes of runny nose include cold, rhinitis (acute rhinitis, chronic rhinitis), sinusitis, nasal mucosal hyperresponsiveness disease (allergic rhinitis, vasomotor rhinitis), malignant tumors and so on.
