Jaundice can be categorized into physiological jaundice and pathological jaundice, and the sun exposure time for children with physiological jaundice is generally 1~2 hours. However, for pathological jaundice, sun exposure alone cannot improve the symptoms of the disease, and medication and physical therapy are needed. Neonatal jaundice is caused by abnormal bilirubin metabolism in the newborn period, which exceeds the body’s metabolic capacity, thus causing the body’s bilirubin level to rise and a series of jaundice symptoms. Physiologic jaundice does not require special intervention, appropriate outdoor activities, sun exposure for 1~2 hours can be, while close observation, jaundice symptoms can subside on their own. However, pathologic jaundice cannot be relieved by sun exposure alone, and immunoglobulin and albumin injections should be administered as prescribed by the doctor. Instead, immunoglobulin and albumin injections should be given as prescribed by the doctor, or blue light irradiation should be used to promote the excretion of unconjugated bilirubin and improve symptoms. Once the diagnosis of pathological jaundice is confirmed, you need to actively cooperate with the doctor to take relevant treatment measures. At the same time, the local skin should be clean to avoid secondary infection.
