What is the reason why a patient with advanced liver cancer always grunts after sleeping?

Patients with advanced stage of liver cancer always grunt after sleeping considering that it may be due to physiological reasons, pain, phlegm blockage and so on, which need to be judged according to the specific situation.
1. Physiological reasons: some patients with advanced liver cancer have their own habits when they sleep, they may make humming sound from nose or mouth after sleeping, but there is no other physical discomfort, which is normal.
2. Pain: Patients with advanced liver cancer will mostly suffer from cancer pain, such as neuropathic pain, visceral pulling pain, etc., and appear to always grunt after sleeping. If the pain is serious, they will also make louder wailing sound.
3. Phlegm blockage: Patients with advanced stage of liver cancer have decreased ability of expelling phlegm, and they have to stay in bed for a long time for rest and treatment, so the phlegm will be blocked at the trachea and can not be expelled after sleeping, and they will make a total grunting sound.
There may be other reasons for late-stage liver cancer patients to grunt after sleeping, so it is recommended to go to the hospital in time, improve the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, and then give targeted treatment or therapy.
