How to read the results of the six cardiac enzymes test

The six cardiac enzymes include aspartate aminotransferase, lactate dehydrogenase, creatine kinase, creatine kinase isoenzyme, a-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase, and alkaline phosphatase.
1. aspartate aminotransferase: normal value is 8-40 U/L.
2. lactate dehydrogenase: normal values are 200-380 U/L in serum and 42-98 U/L in urine.
3. Creatine kinase: normal values are 38-174 U/L in men and 26-140 U/L in women.
4. creatine kinase isoenzyme: normal value is 0.8-5.0μg/L.
5. a-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase: normal value is 72-182 U/L.
6. alkaline phosphatase: male 1-12 years old <500U/L, 12-15 years old <750U/L, >25 years old 40-150U/L. female 1-12 years old <500U/L, >15 years old 40-150U/L.
Once the patient’s test result is not within the above normal range, it is important to look for the cause of the disease in time for prompt symptomatic treatment.
