What does uterine smooth muscle tumor mean? Is it serious?

Uterine smooth muscle tumor is a common mesenchymal tumor of the female reproductive system, which is a benign lesion and generally has a better prognosis after standardized treatment.
Uterine smooth muscle tumor is a benign tumor formed by the proliferation of smooth muscle tissue of the uterus, which is commonly found in women aged 30~40 years old. Most patients are asymptomatic, and a few of them may have symptoms of pressure such as excessive menstruation, pelvic pain, or urinary frequency.
The treatment of uterine fibroids is mainly surgical treatment, which can be local excision or total hysterectomy. Smooth fibroids are benign in course and most patients can achieve a good prognosis after surgery, but a very small number of intraventricular smooth fibroids and smooth fibroids with bizarre nuclei may be at risk of local recurrence after surgery and should be closely followed up.
Patients with uterine smooth muscle tumors are recommended to go to regular hospitals to avoid delays and adverse consequences.
