There is no quick fix for swollen, painful eyelids. Eyelid swelling and pain may be caused by physiological reasons, eye trauma, granuloma, etc. The swelling can be reduced through rest, physical therapy, medication, surgery and other ways. 1. Rest: If you cry for a long time, stay up late for a long time, it may lead to the symptoms of eyelid swelling and pain, which is a physiological phenomenon, generally do not need special treatment, and can be returned to normal after sufficient rest. 2. Physical therapy: If the eyelids are hit or bumped, it will easily lead to soft tissue damage, and the eyelids will be swollen and painful, accompanied by bruising and other symptoms. Cold compresses can be applied through ice packs to make the blood vessels in the surrounding tissues contract and reduce edema. If the injury lasts more than 48 hours, local hot compresses are needed to promote blood circulation and make the condition improve. 3. Medication and surgical treatment: Eyelid glands are easily infected by staphylococcus bacteria when suffering from granuloma. Under the stimulation of inflammation, it can cause eyelid swelling and pain, accompanied by symptoms such as foreign body sensation in the eyes. Under the guidance of the doctor, levofloxacin eye drops and other drugs can be used to promote the recovery of the condition. If necessary, surgical incision and drainage is needed to promote the abscess to subside. Patients with swollen eyelids and pain, excluding physiological causes, should go to the hospital in a timely manner, to clarify the cause of the disease, and then follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
