Can tuberculosis turn into lung cancer?

Tuberculosis does not transform into lung cancer. Tuberculosis is a respiratory infectious disease, which is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. Lung cancer, on the other hand, is a tumor disease with a complex etiology that may be due to long-term smoking, pollution, diet, heredity, and occupational exposure. There is no strong correlation between the occurrence of tuberculosis and lung cancer, and the two diseases are different in type and structure, so tuberculosis does not usually transform into lung cancer. Through standardized anti-tuberculosis treatment in the early stage, most of the patients can achieve clinical cure, and their prognosis is good. The prognosis of lung cancer patients is mainly related to early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment. Early detection and active treatment may lead to cure, while late-stage patients can only alleviate the symptoms to a certain extent and prolong the survival period through active treatment. It is suggested that patients with tuberculosis should seek medical examination in time and take appropriate treatment under the guidance of doctors to avoid further aggravation of the condition.
