In general, a person normally has 20 milk teeth and 28 to 32 permanent teeth.
1. The first set of teeth are milk teeth, which come in at about 2.5 years of age and begin to be replaced by permanent teeth at about 6 years of age.
2. Usually, each adult has 32 permanent teeth, which are mainly located on the left and right sides of the mouth. Of these, 28 are necessary. 4 teeth usually belong to the wisdom teeth, but in some patients the wisdom teeth may not erupt and the number of teeth will be 28 to 32. Generally for people with erupting wisdom teeth, the number of teeth is about 32.
3. Generally adult teeth will not be replaced again. If patients do not take care of their teeth in general, tooth decay may occur. In serious cases, extraction is needed and fewer teeth may be lost. If the number of teeth is less than 20, it usually affects the patient’s normal diet and damages his/her health. Therefore, the patient should develop good brushing habits to protect the health of his/her teeth.
In case of dental and other discomforts, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time to avoid delaying the condition.
