Clogged blood vessels in the calf, how to treat

Blocked blood vessels in the calf are treated in different ways depending on the cause. Common causes include venous blockage, arterial blockage or mixed blockage caused by trauma. It can be treated by medication and surgery.
1. Venous blood vessel blockage: patients with leg venous blood vessel blockage, accompanied by leg swelling, varicose blood vessels, local ulcers and other symptoms. Under the guidance of doctors, patients can take vascularizing drugs such as warfarin and heparin.
2. Arterial vascular blockage: patients with arterial vascular blockage in the legs will suffer from insufficient blood supply to the tissues of the feet, and in severe cases, necrosis of the toes, severe pain and other symptoms will occur. Re-vascularization surgery such as interventional therapy or vascular bypass surgery is needed to restore blood supply.
3. Trauma-induced blockage: Trauma, such as fracture, compresses the arterial and venous blood vessels, causing localized edema accompanied by insufficient blood supply to the feet. Fractures should be repositioned in time so that the blood vessels can be reopened.
Vascular blockage should be promptly treated in the hospital to prevent ischemic necrosis of the lower limb tissues due to vascular blockage, which may require amputation in case of serious necrosis.
