Thatch root, sugar cane and horseshoe boiled water has the efficacy of generating fluids, clearing heat and other effects. The active ingredients in the water are limited and generally do not achieve the therapeutic effect.
Thatch root should refer to leucaena leucocephala root, which belongs to the lung, stomach and bladder meridians. Sweet in flavor, cold in nature. It has the efficacy of cooling blood, stopping bleeding, clearing heat and inducing diuresis. It is used in the treatment of hemorrhagic fever, epistaxis, blood in urine, fever and thirst, jaundice, edema, hot shower (burning and stinging pain during urination, accompanied by frequent urination and urgency, and discomfort of traction in the abdomen), astringent pain, and so on. It is not to be taken by those who have cold spleen and stomach and are not thirsty for urination.
Sugar cane belongs to the lung, spleen, stomach meridian, sweet flavor, cold nature. It has the effects of clearing heat and generating fluids, moistening dryness and neutralizing the middle, and detoxifying the toxin. It can be used for symptoms such as irritable heat, thirst, vomiting and regurgitation, coughing, dry stools, etc. It is not recommended for people with cold spleen and stomach. People with cold spleen and stomach should be cautious.
Horseshoe, also known as water chestnut, belongs to the lung and stomach meridian, with sweet flavor and cold nature. It has the efficacy of clearing heat and generating fluids, resolving phlegm and eliminating accumulation. Main warm disease thirst; sore throat; phlegm-heat cough; red eyes; thirst; dysentery; jaundice; fever; food accumulation (food indigestion and accumulation in the stomach) and other diseases. Caution should be exercised in cases of deficiency of cold and blood.
Mao Gen, Sugar Cane and Horseshoe Water is clinically used to treat fever, lung-heat cough and stomach-heat. Because it is cold, Maogan, Sugarcane and Horseshoe Water is not suitable for people with cold spleen and stomach, cold body and Yang deficiency. Adverse reactions are not clear.
