You can’t blindly pursue a quick recovery from an ankle sprain. The recovery methods for ankle sprain include physical therapy, immobilization therapy and surgery. 1. Physiotherapy: Cold compresses should be applied immediately for acute injuries to reduce local bleeding and swelling, and local physiotherapy can be carried out after 2 days to promote tissue healing. 2. Immobilization treatment: If there is ligament injury or laxity, the ankle joint should be dorsiflexed at 90°, the medial collateral ligament injury should be taken as the extreme inversion position, and the lateral collateral ligament injury should be taken as the extreme outversion position to be immobilized by plaster or device for 2~3 weeks. If the ligament is completely ruptured or the ankle joint is unstable, it should be immobilized for at least 4~6 weeks. 3. Surgical treatment: if there is a fracture piece into the joint, it can be cut out and reset, or the ligament can be repaired. For repeated injuries, surgery can be performed to restore ankle stability in order to protect the ankle joint. If ankle sprain occurs, it is recommended to go to the hospital immediately for early and standardized treatment to avoid delaying the condition.
