Onychomycosis of the big toe is a fungal infection of the nail plate or subnail tissues caused by dermatophytes and yeast. If it is the distal lateral subnail type or the white superficial type, it is commonly treated with topical medications. After removing the diseased nail, topical antifungal preparations such as amorolfin and ketoconazole are used.
Systemic drug therapy is continuous oral terbinafine, or itraconazole intermittent shock therapy may be used. Oral medications can be used in conjunction with topical antifungal medications such as amorolfine.
Big toe nail fungus patients, it is recommended to timely to the regular hospital consultation, under the guidance of the doctor standardized treatment. Drugs need to follow the doctor’s instructions to use, do not self-medication.
