Can osteomyelitis recur after two years of healing?

Osteomyelitis is good for two years and relapse in time to receive standardized treatment, most of them can be cured, the treatment methods are drug therapy and surgery, local adjuvant therapy.
1. Medication: treatment with antibiotics such as vancomycin and cephalosporin to control inflammation and avoid aggravation of infection and spreading to other parts of the body.
2. Surgery: incision and drainage and debridement. Incision and drainage removes infected tissue and relieves associated symptoms. Debridement removes the infected tissue and allows the wound to heal as quickly as possible.
3. Local auxiliary treatment: if there is trauma and obvious pain, skin traction or external fixation frame can be done in the limb, which can prevent joint deformation and pathological fracture.
After timely and standardized treatment, most of the osteomyelitis can be cured without affecting the quality of life and life expectancy, and a small portion of them will have sequelae such as limb joint deformity and sensory abnormalities. If osteomyelitis recurs after treatment, it is recommended to consult the doctor in time, standardize the treatment to improve the prognosis, and do not use drugs blindly.
