Costochondritis or intercostal neuralgia: stabbing or radiating pain along the area of the lower edge of the ribs. The pain can be induced by pressing with the hand, and sometimes the pain can radiate along the ribs to the back and other areas. Most often caused by inflammation, cold, or exertion.
