An 11-month-old baby who falls on the back of the head while sitting may develop a subcutaneous hematoma at the back of the head, concussion, and in a few cases, intracranial hemorrhage.
Usually, 11-month-old babies who fall on the back of the head while sitting will develop a subcutaneous hematoma on the back of the head, which can be seen as a bulge on the back of the head, and the baby’s crying intensifies when pressed. Some babies who fall on the back of the head may have concussion symptoms, such as transient confusion and unresponsiveness.
A few babies may also experience intracranial hemorrhage after falling on the back of the head, and the child may experience headache, projectile vomiting, and drowsiness.
After the 11-month-old baby fell to the back of the head while sitting, parents should closely observe the baby’s condition, and promptly go to the hospital, follow the doctor’s instructions to improve the cranial CT, MRI and other related examinations.
