Neonatal “shaking” can be seen in physiological phenomena, pathological conditions (such as neonatal ischemic-hypoxic encephalopathy), whether it is normal or not need to be combined with the baby’s condition to determine, such as the consideration of ischemic-hypoxic encephalopathy is not normal.
1. Physiological phenomenon: For newborns with immature development of the nervous system, the above phenomenon may occur when they are exposed to external stimuli, etc. The babies often have good mental response without abnormal symptoms, such as fever, etc. The above phenomenon can be relieved as they grow older, which is considered normal and can be observed dynamically.
2. Pathologic conditions:
(1) Neonatal ischemic-hypoxic encephalopathy: these babies may have a history of intrauterine distress or postnatal asphyxia, and may have convulsions, which can be described as “shaking” by parents, and can be diagnosed by perfect cranial magnetic resonance examination, which is abnormal.
(2) Intracranial infections: These can be caused by viral or bacterial infections. Convulsions can occur during the course of the disease, which can be characterized as “shaking of the limbs”, accompanied by fever, poor appetite, etc. Improved lumbar puncture examination can assist in the diagnosis of the disease, which is an abnormal disease state and needs to be actively consulted.
In addition, there are many other reasons that can cause newborns to shake, if there is any discomfort, please apply for diagnosis and treatment in a timely manner.
