Sertraline hydrochloride dosage

Sertraline hydrochloride tablets are used to treat symptoms associated with depression, including depression with anxiety, with or without a history of mania. Adult dosage is taken orally once daily at an initial dose of 50mg, gradually increasing the dose to a maximum of 200mg. it can be taken either morning or evening, either alone or with food.
For adults starting out, take 1 tablet (50mg) of sertraline daily. The dose may be increased in patients who do not respond well to 1 tablet (50 mg) per day or in patients who tolerate the drug well. Because the elimination half-life of sertraline is 24 hours, dose adjustments should be made at intervals of no shorter than 1 week, up to a maximum dose of 4 tablets (200 mg)/day.
Children 6 to 12 years of age: the starting dose is 25 mg once daily, if this dose is not effective, the dose can be increased, but children’s body weight is lower than that of normal peers, should be given according to the doctor’s advice, to avoid overdose of adverse reactions.
Adverse reactions such as insomnia, dizziness, diarrhea, nausea, fatigue, and weight gain may occur during administration. Sertraline hydrochloride tablets are contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to it. Combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors, pimozide and other drugs is prohibited. Pregnant and lactating women, children under 6 years of age should not be used.
