According to the Chinese Pharmacopoeia, the dosage of Morinda citrifolia is 3~10g, and the dosage of Cuscuta chinensis is 6~12g, and the specific dosage needs to be decided according to the individual’s physique and condition.
Morinda citrifolia is slightly warm in nature, sweet and pungent in flavor, and belongs to kidney and liver meridians. Its effect is to tonify kidney yang, strengthen muscles and bones, and dispel wind-dampness. It can be used for uterine cold infertility, menstrual disorders, impotence and spermatorrhea, cold pain in the abdomen, impotence and weakness of sinews and bones, rheumatism and paralysis. The adverse effects of Ba Ji Tian are not clear, and it is contraindicated for people with yin deficiency and fire or dampness-heat.
Cuscuta is flat in nature, sweet in flavor, and belongs to the kidney, liver and spleen meridians. It has the effects of tonifying the liver and kidney, consolidating semen and urine, preventing random leakage, brightening the eyes, and tranquilizing the fetus.
It can be used to treat deficiency of the liver and kidney, impotence and spermatorrhea, frequent urination, soreness and weakness of the waist and knees, kidney deficiency and fetal leakage (small amount of vaginal bleeding in early pregnancy), and restlessness of the fetus. Cuscuta should not be taken by people with yin deficiency and fire, dry stools, short and red urine (small amount of urine with dark yellow color). The adverse effects of this product are not known.
