It is recommended to choose only one antipyretic at a time for children with fever, and alternating between two medications to reduce fever is not recommended.
When children have a fever with a temperature greater than 38.5°C, medications are usually given to lower the temperature, and commonly used antipyretics include acetaminophen suspension and ibuprofen suspension.
Ibuprofen suspension is used once every 6 to 8 hours, not more than 4 times every 24 hours; acetaminophen suspension is used once every 4 to 6 hours, not more than 4 times every 24 hours (the drugs need to be used under the guidance of a doctor).
When children have fever, usually use a single antipyretic, when the use of an antipyretic, not to reach the time of reuse of drugs, the body temperature again appeared to rise significantly, can consider using another drug to reduce the temperature, but generally will not be used continuously alternately.
Children with fever, need to promptly to the hospital, follow the doctor’s instructions to use antipyretic drugs, do not blindly use their own.
