Herpes around the waist is often considered a symptom of shingles, a viral disease that occurs when the immune system is low. Herpes zoster is a skin disease caused by reactivation of varicella zoster virus latent in the body when the immune system is low, mostly occurring on one side of the body or one side of the face, and is commonly known as herpes zoster. Therefore, the appearance of herpes around the waist is mostly considered to be caused by herpes zoster, usually accompanied by local pain symptoms. Advanced age, recent overexertion, trauma, and long-term use of glucocorticoids or immunosuppressants are risk factors for the development of the disease. Herpes zoster is somewhat self-limiting, and the rash may heal after a period of time, but may leave complications such as postherpetic neuralgia. Therefore, it is recommended that patients seek treatment in a timely manner to avoid delays.
