What happens when you get a headache on dialysis

Headache during dialysis may be related to hypotension and dialysis imbalance syndrome.
1. Hypotension: dialysis patients are often combined with hypotension, due to the fact that water removal during dialysis can easily lead to volumetric hypotension, resulting in headaches due to insufficient blood supply to the brain.
2. Dialysis Imbalance Syndrome: If the patient has just started dialysis, he/she is prone to Dialysis Imbalance Syndrome, which may show headache, usually due to the osmotic pressure change after the toxin is removed from the body of the dialysis patient, resulting in headache.
There may be other reasons for headache during dialysis. If any discomfort occurs during dialysis, the doctor should be informed promptly to clarify the cause of the condition and standardize the treatment under the physician’s guidance.
