Fruit diet has no therapeutic effect, patients with heavy dampness are recommended to use medication under the guidance of a doctor, commonly used medications are ginseng and atractylodes macrocephala, Xiangsha Liujun Pills, clear heat and dispel dampness particles, and so on.
Ginseng, Poria, Atractylodes macrocephala (fried), Chinese yam, white lentil (fried), lotus seed, Coix seed (fried), sand nuts and other components. It has the effect of tonifying the spleen and stomach, and benefiting lung qi. It is used in treating weak spleen and stomach, loose stools with little food, shortness of breath and cough, tiredness and fatigue. It should not be taken by patients with cold and fever.
Xiangsha Liujun Pill, composed of Muxiang, Sha Ren, Codonopsis, Atractylodes macrocephala (fried), Poria, Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, Semixia (made of ginger). It is used for dyspepsia caused by spleen deficiency and Qi stagnation, belching (burping) with little food, epigastric (abdominal) distension, and loose stools. Not to be taken by pregnant women.
Clearing Heat and Dispelling Dampness Granules, composed of Radix Codonopsis Pilosulae, Rhizoma Pinelliae, Rhizoma Gangmai, Radix Astragali, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, Rhizoma Chrysanthemum, and Pericarpium Citriodora. It has the effects of clearing heat and dampness, benefiting qi and generating fluid (promoting fluid production by tonifying qi). It is used for treating fatigue of limbs, loss of appetite, body heat and dry mouth caused by summer dampness. Not recommended for diabetic patients.
Patients with heavy dampness are advised to seek prompt medical treatment. If medication is needed, it should be identified by a doctor and standardized treatment should be followed.
